08:57 am - Latest email from RJ
Greetings from Montana!

We're actually from California, as you might know, but we've officially hit the road for 2008, and are currently experiencing zero-degree weather here in Montana. We left L.A. yesterday and have been driving almost nonstop. Tomorrow night we play the first show of the tour, in Havre. Our road-muscles are redeveloping, tans waning, and attitudes are fresh and healthy!

Please take a moment to scan the long list of shows to the left to see if we're coming to you, or to someone you love. And then spread the word! Also note that there have been quite a few updates to our calendar since we sent the last email, so make sure you know what's up. All the details such as times can be found on our MySpace page or rainingjane.com.

We're happy to announce that we'll be back in Portland, Maine at the North Star Music Cafe on Feb. 15th. We're also involved with The Folk Alliance organization, and will be performing in private showcases as well as presenting a private showcase room at the conference in Memphis. And on March 8th, we're opening for The Nadas for their cd release show in Des Moines!

Yes, we are getting closer and closer to finishing our next record. We're sooo excited about it and can't wait to share it with you. We also have a bunch of new shirts and other goodies in the works, and even more good news to be announced soon...

Here's to snow chains & getting a new car battery,

Mona, Mai, Chaska, Becky

A new song I heard them perform in Dayton when I saw them finally got put up on Youtube.
It's called Clementine and it's so great.
Also Sara Bareilles sings with them so that's even better (:

06:40 pm - Email update from RJ
Here's the latest from the ladies of Raining Jane. Check under the cut to see if they're coming to a venue near you:

Helloooo! Lot's of updates...

We're enjoying home for a couple of months, but staying busy with finishing up the record we're working on with uber-talented producer Brad Gordon. We can't wait to share the music with you! We're expecting to release it in February. Our craazay touring schedule will resume in January, check out the massive tour list to your left (our right). As always, we will be adding in non-college shows, and more college shows, continually, so please stay tuned!

Our next show in L.A. is this Friday! It's a charity concert event in Hermosa Beach. Awesome. Come on down. Or up, depending on where you live.

In other news... we just took a mini-road trip up to Eureka to play a "Home For The Holidays" show with Sara Bareilles! It was worth the drive to play for the packed house at the Eureka Historical Theater. We ended the night with all eight members of both bands performing "Imagine" by John Lennon. It was a beautiful moment! Thank you to everyone who came to the show and helped make it happen.

We'd also like to send a shout to The University of Redlands for having us on campus on December 10th to play at their "Rock Out With Your Smock Out" program! Your paintings, and the hats to benefit Invisible Children were awesome, we were so happy to provide the musical entertainment.

Peace & Love & Hope to see you soon,

Mai, Mona, Chaska, Becky

Hey guys.
I've been meaning to post this for a long time.
My friends and I drove from Ohio to Maryland to see RJ at their May 4th show at the University of Maryland. This was our fourth time seeing the band, and as always they were amazing. Anyway, took some pictures.

Anything worth hididng is not worth living for.Collapse )

01:04 pm - Hey kiddos.
So this is probably pretty much useless since the community looks dead and all, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm a huge fan of RJ. I've seen them live 3 times, hopefully 4 in May. Anyway I have their second cd, and my friend just gave me the first, and I'm pretty much dying for lyrics to 'Both Hands'. I can get most of it, but there are a few iffy parts. Any and all help would be awesome. Oh and also, I created a facebook group called 'Raining Jane Is Love' for anyone that is interested/has a facebook account. :D

Thanks again.
